LAGOS, NIGERIA, August 2026: Thrive-In-Tech, a technology mentorship and community initiative, is set to host the sixth edition of its flagship event, Thrive-In-Tech 6.0, on August 21 and 22, 2026, at Golfview Suites, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
Held under the theme "Build for Impact," the two-day event will bring together technology professionals, students, developers, founders, entrepreneurs and emerging innovators for a programme combining a competitive hackathon, practical technology sessions, mentorship, career development and networking.
The event will open on Friday, August 21, with the Thrive-In-Tech 6.0 Hackathon, featuring 99 registered teams competing to develop technology solutions to real-world challenges across areas including artificial intelligence, fintech, health technology, digital identity, cybersecurity, education, agritech and PropTech.
Teams will spend the day building and refining their solutions with support from experienced mentors before presenting their ideas to a judging panel. Oluwaseun Oluboyo, Chief Technical Architect at ipNX Nigeria Limited, will serve as Chief Judge.
The hackathon will offer more than ₦3.5 million in combined cash prizes, technology credits, mentorship, incubation support and other benefits. The top three teams will receive ₦500,000, ₦300,000 and ₦200,000 respectively, alongside additional support designed to help participants continue developing their solutions beyond the competition.
QoreID will also present a special Digital Identity & Trust Award, featuring a ₦300,000 cash prize, six months of QoreID API access, developer support and technical mentorship.
On Saturday, August 22, the event will transition into the main Thrive-In-Tech 6.0 Conference, bringing together leading voices from technology, engineering, product, business, people and innovation.
The conference will open with a keynote by Oyedayo Otokiti, Director IT & Operations at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, addressing the role African technology leaders must play in the emerging landscape of AI governance.
Other speakers and industry leaders participating in the programme include Babatunde Ojumu, Director Technical Solutions at SoftAlliance & Resources; Oladapo Adediran, CTO at Octamile; Hemen Hirekaan, Engineering Manager at Moniepoint; Barakat Ajadi, Product Manager at Monnify; Akintola Taofeek, Head of Engineering & Payments Architect at Hydrogen; Akolade Ayeni, Software Engineering Manager at GreenAfrica Airways; Lucy Bolaji, HR Leader & Talent Strategist; and Ikenna Agbasimalo, Engineering Manager at QoreID.
The programme will explore practical issues facing today's technology ecosystem, including succeeding in the age of AI, building scalable technology systems, AI-powered product development, data-driven decision-making, engineering leadership, entrepreneurship and building technology businesses for impact.
